About us

The Ladonia Community is an unincorporated area located immediately west of Phenix City, AL. It includes 26 square miles of territory with three major highways passing through our jurisdiction. While our population is approximately 5,500 as of the 2020 census, it swells to almost double daily with commuters and shoppers.

Established in 1973, the Ladonia Volunteer Fire Department is a non-profit, an all-hazards agency comprised of dedicated volunteers receiving an average of 1,300 calls for service per year. Members take great pride in protecting the people, property, and environment of the community.

Not only do we respond to fires, we also assist the community with:

  • Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • Emergency Medical Response
  • Hazardous Materials Situations
  • Traffic Hazards
  • Search and Rescue Operations
  • Agency Assistance
  • Public Fire and Medical Education
  • Disaster Response

…and so much more!
